Why not "Cruise" Into your new home business?

It's big, no it's "huge"! ( No it is MASSIVE!) It is by far, the largest industry in the world today and it is growing at over 23% every year in one location.  The location is "online" and the industry I speak of is the travel industry.

 Of all of the home business opportunities I have investigated, there is only one that stands apart.  It stands apart because it is simply the largest industry on the planet today. It is valued now at over $7 Trillion dollars (yes that is Trillion!) and online growth is at a staggering 23% per year and projected to remain at that level for the next four to five years! By 2010 the travel industry will stand at a staggering $10 "Trillion" dollars.

 With Baby boomers now retiring at a rate of one every 6 seconds, for the next 12 years, the travel industry and in particular the cruise industry is booming, with no end in sight. In the same way that diapers and baby food boomed in the 50's, schools in the 60's and housing in the 70's and 80's, now the cruise industry is the cash cow of the largest growing, richest generation in history! Over the past ten years, more cruise ships have been built than in any time in history. 

In 2008 alone 16 brand new ships will set sail, including the the fabulous Royal Caribbean, "Liberty of the Seas" one of the "Freedom class" which at 160,000 tons, dwarfs the Queen Mary 2. This will be the third freedom class ship for RCCL which is only one of dozens of large cruise lines building ships at a pace never before seen in history. The ones on the drawing board over the next five years are in every respect, floating cities.

Now if you have watched with envy as numerous businesses have made millions feeding this incredible cash cow called the Baby boom generation, then you can "stop looking right now". It is now easier than ever to become an online travel agent and start selling to the largest, richest  generation in history.

 There is no other industry as big, and, interestingly, no other industry that is growing so much "online" as the travel industry. Currently growing at 23% per year (according to Forrester Research), and projected to continue that growth online for many years to come, it is no wonder that I and others have come to the obvious conclusion that the travel industry offers the average home business entrepreneur the most opportunity for now and for the foreseeable future, not to mention the incredible side benefits such as discounts on cruises, hotels etc.! 

Depending on where you live, travel agent training courses can cost upwards of $10,000, and then you have to go and apply for a job with no guarantees. On top of this, I have no doubt that many of the travel agencies that currently only work as "bricks and mortar" businesses (no online presence or very little) are a group of business dinosaurs and will be extinct in a very short time. In fact, this segment of the industry, has shrunk over 90% since 1994 (The year the world wide web was introduced to the world). So what is one to do if one desires to be a travel agent of the future?
